Femmes, tout simplement
This piece has become a solo performed by Dobet Gnahoré.
4 young African women, living far from home share their struggles and emotions in order to survive. In this afro-contemporary work, their bodies do the talking, at times energetic, at times tentative, gentle or violent, impetuous and passionate, wielding objects from their everyday lives.
Initially created by the Ivorian singer and dancer Dobet Gnahoré, this piece came out of the desire to put women centre stage, and is currently being developed in collaboration with Dunia Dance Theatre.
